Off stage, however, he is surprisingly different. Protective, generous, and deeply family-oriented, he has an incredible knack for taking care of those he loves. He’s the first to organize get-togethers, the one who remembers birthdays, the one who insists everyone eats before a rehearsal, and the one who shows up unannounced when he suspects a friend isn’t doing well. Marco believes that family isn’t always bound by blood. For him, the people you choose can also become your siblings. His greatest virtue is his ability to shoulder the burdens of others without expecting anything in return. He prefers solving problems instead of just talking about them, and he rarely lets anyone see him vulnerable. When he saw one of the attackers pull out a knife and head toward James, he barely had time to register what was happening. It was the only time in his life that he completely lost control. He doesn’t remember running toward the attacker. He doesn’t recall starting to hit him. He only remembers the emotional shock of waking up on the street, his hands covered in blood, surrounded by police, and seeing the terror reflected in his friends’ faces. That night became the greatest guilt of his life. For years, he believed he had destroyed the band’s future by not being able to stop in time. Even though everyone told him he acted to protect James, Marco never fully forgave himself. The question “What if I had reacted differently?” haunted him for seven long years. Over time, he built a family and found some stability, but he never let the memory of that night fade away. His daughter became the center of his world, and he chose Allegra as her godmother because he never forgot that even when the band ceased to exist, she continued to care for everyone.
