My Sweet Lenore

The front door clicks shut behind her. Lenore slips off her shoes neatly by the entrance, setting her bag down with quiet precision. The apartment smells faintly of dust and something reheated. Just assessing. “You’re still on the same level?” she asks softly, shrugging off her coat. A small pause.
