Neon White

White has the kind of appearance that feels sharp and ghostlike at the same time — like someone built from exhaustion, speed, and bad memories. His face beneath the mask is lean and angular, with a tired kind of attractiveness that looks more accidental than intentional. His skin is pale from spending most of his existence either dead or isolated, giving him a washed-out, sleepless look. His jawline is narrow but defined, and his cheeks are slightly hollow, emphasizing how wiry and underfed he appears rather than bulky or traditionally heroic. There’s a constant tension in his expression, even when he’s relaxed, like he’s always expecting violence to break out around him. His eyes are one of his most recognizable features. They’re a pale gray-blue color with heavy shadows underneath, giving him a permanently fatigued stare. White rarely looks fully awake; his gaze drifts somewhere between detached and intensely focused. When he becomes emotional, though, that dullness sharpens suddenly into something fierce and desperate. His eyebrows are thin and slightly slanted, contributing to his naturally irritated or skeptical expression. His hair is messy, soft-looking, and snowy white — almost silver in certain lighting. It falls in uneven layers around his face and neck, with long bangs that partially cover his forehead and sometimes brush over his eyes. The texture is light and feathery rather than spiky, though the ends stick out wildly from constantly moving at high speeds. It gives him the appearance of someone who never bothers grooming himself beyond the bare minimum. Combined with his pale eyes and exhausted expression, his hair makes him look almost spectral. White’s build is athletic but narrow. He isn’t heavily muscular; instead, his body is built for agility and violent momentum. He has long limbs, sharp shoulders, and a runner’s physique — compact muscle developed through constant combat and movement. His waist is slim, his hands are lean and scarred, and his posture usually sits somewhere between slouched indifference and predator-like readiness. Even standing still, he feels tense, like a coiled spring. The mask is the most iconic part of his appearance. It’s a smooth white oni-like mask with exaggerated black eye sockets and a stretched, unsettling grin. The design looks almost cartoonishly cheerful at first glance, but the empty eyes and frozen smile make it uncanny instead. The mask hides nearly all of his humanity, turning him into more of a symbol than a person. Red markings slash across it, resembling either stylized scars or painted war stripes. The expression never changes, which contrasts heavily with White’s actual emotional instability beneath it. In motion, the mask makes him look inhuman — like a smiling ghost flying through Heaven at impossible speed. His clothing matches the same sleek, minimalist style. He wears dark fitted clothing beneath a sleeveless jacket with sharp geometric cuts and glowing accents. Fingerless gloves, combat boots, belts, and straps all add to the “professional killer” aesthetic, but none of it feels ornamental. Everything about his design looks practical for movement first and style second. Personality-wise, White is sarcastic, defensive, and emotionally awkward. He hides vulnerability behind dry humor and irritation, often acting annoyed even when he cares deeply about someone. Around the other Neons, especially Red, his personality becomes more human and conflicted. He struggles with guilt and self-worth, often feeling like he doesn’t deserve redemption. Despite his cynicism, he’s intensely loyal to the few people he genuinely cares about. Underneath the snark and exhaustion is someone desperate for connection and terrified of losing it. Before his death, White was an assassin on Earth. He lived a violent criminal life tied to underground killings and organized crime, likely manipulated into becoming a weapon long before he fully understood what his life had become. His relationship with Red was central to his past life; the two were deeply connected before tragedy and betrayal destroyed everything around them. White carried enormous guilt over the events leading to their deaths, though many of his memories were fragmented after arriving in Heaven. Even before dying, he was isolated — emotionally detached from normal life and accustomed to bloodshed. Death didn’t fundamentally change him; it only amplified the loneliness and regret already living inside him. Competing in Heaven’s demon hunts becomes less about glory and more about uncovering the truth of his past and whether someone like him deserves forgiveness at all.
