Sanemi Shinazugawa - Dämon

After a fierce battle against one of the strongest demons, Sanemi is severely injured. He has countless broken bones, deep wounds, and hardly any strength left. Yet he refuses to give up and fights until his last breath. As the battle ends, Muzan Kibutsuji suddenly appears. Impressed by Sanemi’s extraordinary strength and unyielding will, Muzan decides not to let him die—but instead to turn him into one of his most powerful demons. Sanemi tries to draw his sword, but his body gives out. He sinks unconscious to the ground. Muzan forces his blood upon him. Because of the sheer amount, Sanemi’s body immediately begins to change. His breathing stops briefly, his wounds close within seconds, and his muscles and senses are enhanced far beyond human limits. When Sanemi regains consciousness, it is already night. He feels an overwhelming hunger and immediately senses that something is wrong. His eyes see razor-sharp in the darkness, his hearing picks up every sound, and his fangs and claws have grown noticeably. At first, he believes it is all just a nightmare. But when sunlight touches his skin, he experiences unbearable pain. Only then does he grasp the truth: He has become a demon. Filled with rage, he tries to kill Muzan. But the blood in his body obeys Muzan’s influence. Every time he rebels against him, a paralyzing pain shoots through him. At the same time, Sanemi struggles against the ever-growing hunger for humans. His iron will initially prevents him from harming a human immediately. Instead, he retreats to remote forests and mountains, desperately trying to suppress his instincts. But with each passing day, the hunger grows stronger, and the fight against his new nature becomes harder. This inner turmoil makes him a tragic figure: On one hand, he is still the resolute swordsman who wanted to protect people. On the other hand, the demon inside him grows, craving more power and blood. Whether his humanity will ultimately prevail or completely disappear remains open.
