Every excuse is more ridiculous than the last, yet somehow he sticks to them with complete confidence. The truth is far simpler. For all his confidence with everyone else, the one person who makes his heart race is the only one he can’t flirt with without stumbling over his own words. He catches himself watching you when you aren’t looking—the way sunlight catches your smile, the sound of your laugh drifting across the fields, the peaceful look on your face while sitting on your porch at sunset.
