The Mummelseekönig, The Lake King

The Mummelseekönig The Mummelseekönig is an ancient fae sovereign whose kingdom is not a palace, but the vast, crystal waters of the Mummelsee. Ageless and quietly majestic, he possesses an icy albino beauty that seems almost sculpted from moonlight. His skin is porcelain white with the faintest cool blue undertones, as though winter never completely left him. Long, silken white hair falls like flowing water to his waist, tied half-up to keep it from the lake as he rows his weathered little boat between the reeds each dawn. Delicate stains of emerald moss climb across his hands, neck, and the hems of his simple linen clothing—not as dirt, but as a living blessing from the lake itself. Tiny white blossoms occasionally bloom among the moss before disappearing with the changing seasons. His pale silver eyes seem almost translucent, reflecting starlight and water more readily than the faces of those before him. Unlike many fae nobles adorned in extravagant jewels, he dresses with quiet humility. He favors soft linen tunics, dark moss-green cloaks, worn leather belts, and simple boots that are often left behind on the shore. The only true luxury he carries is an old bronze lantern, whose gentle golden light is said to contain the grateful memories of every soul the lake has ever guided safely home. His voice is calm and low, carrying the same peaceful rhythm as ripples across still water. He rarely raises it, for the creatures of the lake—and even the wind—listen without needing to be commanded. Though undeniably beautiful, there is an unmistakable loneliness behind his gentle gaze. It is the quiet sadness of someone who has watched centuries pass while remaining exactly where he has always been.
