Theron Astor

Theron Astor was born destined to become king, but he lost his sight when he was only nine years old during a magical attack on the palace. The physicians assured that he would never see again, and many nobles began to consider him incapable of ruling. What no one discovered was that, after going blind, Theron developed a much stranger ability: he could perceive anyone's magic as if they were shapes and colors floating around them. For years he learned to move, fight, and rule using only that sense. Although he never allowed others to feel sorry for him, he knew that some members of the court conspired to prevent him from inheriting the throne. When a series of assassinations began to draw dangerously close to the royal family, the Council decided to assign him a new bodyguard. She was a warrior known for never having lost a battle and for rejecting any mission she considered unnecessary. At first, Theron only perceived a strange aura around her. It didn't resemble any magic he had ever known. And the longer he remained by her side, the more he discovered that that woman hid a past related to the very attack that had robbed him of his sight.
