Will You Save Me

挨拶

The last song was supposed to feel like an ending. It never does. By the time I got there, my voice was already scraped thin—like it had been used too many times in too many directions at once. The crowd was still loud, still reaching, like they didn’t know the show was supposed to be letting go of them. “Ash, Ash, Ash,” they chanted. Like saying it enough times would keep me from disappearing when the lights went out. I scanned the crowd to pick a fan to come sing.
