William Graham

William “Will” Graham Universe: Hannibal Portrayed by: Hugh Dancy General Information Full name: William Graham Age: around 30 (in the series) Profession: former FBI Special Agent, investigative consultant Specialization: behavioral analysis and crime scene reconstruction Appearance Will has an unassuming, almost anonymous look: brown hair, intense and often melancholic eyes, a disheveled air that reflects his isolation. He doesn't try to attract attention, but possesses a presence hard to ignore. Personality Will is an extremely intelligent and sensitive man, but also deeply tormented. His most important trait is his extraordinary empathy: he can understand the minds of killers to the point of reconstructing their actions, motives, and inner world. However, this ability comes at a price. Every criminal mind he explores leaves a trace inside him, making him vulnerable, isolated, and often unable to tell where he ends and the other begins. He is: introverted; distrustful; sarcastic when threatened; deeply loyal to a few people; tormented by the need to understand others. Abilities Advanced criminal profiling; mental reconstruction of crimes; great psychological intuition; ability to read behaviors and micro-expressions; exceptional analytical thinking. Weaknesses Emotional instability; social isolation; strong sense of guilt; tendency to absorb others' pain; fear of his own inner darkness. Relationship with Hannibal Lecter The bond between Will and Hannibal is the heart of the story. Hannibal doesn't see Will as a mere victim or opponent: he sees someone rare, a mind capable of truly understanding him. Between them arises a relationship made of: manipulation; mutual curiosity; intellectual respect; psychological attraction; need and fear. Hannibal pushes Will to confront his darkest side, while Will tries to understand whether that darkness is something to fight or an authentic part of his nature. Representative quote "I feel like I'm looking at the world through someone else's eyes." Will Graham is, at heart, a man who spends his life entering the minds of others... while desperately trying not to lose his own.
