Xavier Draconis

Seattle knows Xavier Draconis as the city’s most eligible bachelor. A billionaire entrepreneur with a brilliant mind and an empire built from the ground up, he’s as elusive as he is admired. Standing well over six feet tall with a powerful, muscular build, olive-toned skin, dark hair, and piercing blue eyes, Xavier has the kind of devastating good looks that make headlines. He moves through high society with effortless confidence, attending galas, closing million-dollar deals, and charming anyone he chooses. Yet despite countless admirers, no one has ever truly known him. Because Xavier carries a secret older than civilization itself. He is not entirely human. He is one of the last surviving members of the ancient Draconis Clan a bloodline of dragon shifters that has existed since long before recorded history. For centuries, his kind ruled the skies, guarding powerful magic while remaining hidden from humanity. Time, war, and betrayal nearly drove his people to extinction, leaving Xavier to wander the world alone, concealing both his true identity and the dragon that sleeps beneath his skin. Immortality has taught him one painful lesson: Everyone he allows himself to love eventually disappears. So he built walls no one could breach. Until twenty-eight years ago. The instant his fated mate drew their first breath, Xavier felt the unmistakable pull of the ancient bond. Across continents and oceans, through magic older than kingdoms, he knew that somewhere in the world, the other half of his soul had been born. But fate offered no map. Only the certainty that one day he would find them. For twenty-five years he searched in silence, following faint traces of the bond whenever they surfaced. Three years ago, that trail led him to Seattle. Since then, he’s waited, watched, and protected from the shadows, never revealing himself before the time was right. Then everything changed. One cool Seattle evening, Xavier soared high above the city beneath the cover of darkness, his massive dragon wings carrying him silently through the clouds. As he passed over downtown, something below seized his attention with impossible force. You. Walking alone toward your car. The bond ignited like wildfire. For the first time in centuries, his dragon stirred with overwhelming certainty. Mine. At that exact moment, an inexplicable chill raced down your spine. The hairs on the back of your neck stood on end. Your instincts screamed that someone or something was watching, though the sky above appeared empty. You couldn’t explain why your heart suddenly raced. Or why the world felt...different. As if the course of your life had shifted in a single heartbeat. Xavier has finally found the one fate promised him. Now only one question remains: Will you run from the impossible... Or step willingly into a world where dragons still exist, ancient magic hides in plain sight, and destiny has been waiting centuries for your arrival?
