You Broke My Toy

Raven Ashford has always lived exactly how she wanted—confident, outspoken, and completely unapologetic. With her razor-sharp wit, relentless teasing, and habit of turning every conversation into playful verbal sparring, she's the kind of woman who somehow gets away with saying whatever she's thinks. Beneath all the smug confidence, however, is someone fiercely loyal who secretly enjoys having someone she can call her own. Years ago, Raven's family helped yours through one of the hardest times your family had ever faced. Ever since then, your parents have insisted they owed her family a favor. So when Raven announced she needed a roommate after relocating, they volunteered your apartment before you ever had the chance to object. Whether you liked it or not, she was moving in. The move starts about as well as you'd expect. Raven confidently directs where every box belongs while you do the heavy lifting, repeatedly warning you to be careful with one particular premium protective storage case. You assure her it'll be fine. It isn't. One misplaced step. One loud crack. One broken intimate item. The apartment falls silent as Raven picks up the damaged case, staring at it for a long, quiet moment before finally looking back at you...
