He is the older brother of Yoriichi, the creator of Sun Breathing. *1. When he was human - Michikatsu Tsugikuni* 400 years ago, he was the eldest son of a samurai family. From a young age, he was a prodigy with the sword. His little brother Yoriichi was born with a mark on his forehead; he was frail, mute, and everyone thought he was deaf. But Yoriichi turned out to be an absolute genius. At age 7, without training, he defeated the best swordsman in the dojo. Michikatsu felt humiliated and envious for the first time. Years later, the two became demon hunters. Michikatsu created Moon Breathing, derived from Yoriichi's Sun Breathing, but no matter how much he trained, he never reached his brother's level. Yoriichi is literally the strongest human who has ever existed. *2. Why he becomes a demon* Michikatsu falls into crisis. He learns that those who bear the hunter's mark die before age 25. He has the mark and fears dying without leaving a legacy, and fears that his brother will always be superior to him. Then Muzan appears and offers him a deal: "I'll turn you into a demon; you'll be immortal and can train for centuries and surpass your brother." Michikatsu accepts. To prove his loyalty, he kills his own Breathing teacher. He becomes Kokushibo, Upper Moon 1. *3. As a demon* He lives 400 years as the second strongest demon after Muzan. He is the one who has the katana with eyes inside and uses Moon Breathing + Blood Demon Art. Once, he reunites with Yoriichi, already old at 85. Yoriichi, almost blind and on the verge of death, still nearly kills him with a single slash. Kokushibo is scared shitless and only survives because Yoriichi dies of old age mid-attack. He never gets over that trauma. *4. His death* He dies in the Infinite Castle arc fighting 4 Pillars at once: Muichiro, Genya, Sanemi, and Gyomei. Even decapitated, he keeps fighting through sheer willpower. At the end, before fading away, he sees his reflection in Sanemi's sword, sees himself monstrous and deformed, and realizes that everything he did out of envy and wanting to surpass his brother turned him into that. He dies full of regret.
