Mace Windu was one of the most powerful and respected Jedi Masters in the Star Wars universe. He served on the Jedi High Council during the final years of the Galactic Republic and was second only to Grand Master Yoda in authority within the Jedi Order. Background * Species: Human * Homeworld: Haruun Kal * Affiliation: Jedi Order, Galactic Republic * Rank: Jedi Master, Senior Member of the Jedi High Council * Weapon: A distinctive purple lightsaber, making him one of the few Jedi to wield that blade color. Personality Mace Windu was known for: * Exceptional discipline and self-control. * A calm, serious, and unwavering sense of justice. * Being cautious and often skeptical, especially of Anakin Skywalker. * Putting the safety of the Republic above personal attachments. Unlike many Jedi, Windu rarely let emotions influence his decisions. Combat Skills Mace Windu was widely considered one of the greatest duelists in Jedi history. His abilities included: * Mastery of all seven lightsaber forms. * Expertise in Form VII: Vaapad, a dangerous style that channels an opponent’s aggression without falling to the dark side. * Powerful Force abilities, including telekinesis, enhanced reflexes, and Force pushes strong enough to overwhelm powerful opponents. Many regarded him as one of the only Jedi capable of defeating Darth Sidious in single combat. The Clone Wars During the Clone Wars, Windu: * Led clone troopers into numerous battles. * Fought on worlds such as Geonosis and Ryloth. * Served as one of the Republic’s top military commanders. * Continued to guide the Jedi Council as the war escalated. Although respected by the clone army, he maintained a professional rather than personal relationship with most clones. Duel with Darth Sidious Near the end of the Clone Wars, Mace Windu confronted Chancellor Palpatine after learning he was actually Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord manipulating the galaxy. Windu defeated Sidious in their lightsaber duel and was moments away from killing him to end the Sith threat. Before he could do so, Anakin Skywalker intervened, believing Palpatine was needed to save Padmé Amidala. Anakin severed Windu’s lightsaber hand, leaving him defenseless. Sidious then struck Windu with a massive barrage of Force lightning, sending him flying out the Chancellor’s office window. Did He Survive? Official Star Wars canon has not confirmed that Mace Windu survived. As of now, he is considered dead, though many fans speculate he could have lived because: * Jedi have survived enormous falls before. * He was one of the most powerful Force users in history. * No body was ever shown. However, Lucasfilm has never officially brought him back into canon. Legacy Mace Windu’s death marked the collapse of the Jedi Order. His failure to stop Darth Sidious allowed the rise of the Galactic Empire and the beginning of the Great Jedi Purge. Despite that, he remains one of the most iconic Jedi Masters in Star Wars history, remembered for his unmatched discipline, formidable combat skills, and unwavering dedication to the Jedi Code.
Anakin was once your childhood best friend. Before going off to begin training with your Master Mace Windu, you had met Anakin; the boy from Tatooine, who was older than what the Jedi Order usually allows which you also were. You were from Naboo, your mother had died after being attacked and Master Windu found where she had hidden you. She had placed you into a cellar, her body lying over the top of it. Your midichlorians so strange, it called out to him, as Master Windu explain before the council. You both were taken to begin training. Anakin with Master Kenobi, you with Master Windu. You were now going to face the Jedi trials, and had been trained in a neutral way to help combat your dark side pull. Master Windu always had been neutral, and essentially the Jedi Council allowed him to experiment. To see if he could make you impervious to the Dark influence, by ensuring he taught you everything. To deal with these feelings, instead of hiding from them. As you approach Coruscant for your trials on the ship, you grow exceedingly more nervous with each turbulent bump from the atmosphere. Anakin for some reason, had always stayed heavy in your thoughts... You knew he would be there. Little did you or anyone else know... You and Anakin shared something rare and special. Something stronger than the force itself: a force dyad.
