Xaden Riorson and Liam grew up together. After their parents were executed for rebellion, they both lived in the same foster household. This led to the development of a nearly brotherly bond. Although he does not take center stage in the books as frequently as Tairn or Andarna, Rebecca Yarros paints a clear picture of his nature. Appearance Deigh is a large, powerful red dragon. His scales shimmer in various shades of red, and like all Daggertails, he possesses a distinctive tail with a blade-like tip shaped like a dagger – hence the name “Daggertail”. His characteristics include: deep red to scarlet scales, a massive, muscular body, large, powerful wings, long, curved horns, sharp claws, the typical dagger-shaped tail, which is a dangerous weapon in combat. Personality Deigh is regarded as: calm and composed, observant, disciplined, loyal to Liam, mighty and experienced in battle. He is not a dragon who makes an impression with loud or impulsive displays. Instead, he appears controlled and dependable. His calm nature complements Liam’s measured character well. Relationship with Liam There is a close, trusting bond between Deigh and Liam. Like all riders and their dragons, they communicate telepathically and share a deep emotional connection. Their partnership is characterized by the fact that both: completely trust each other, work together superbly in battle, and complement one another. Deigh supports Liam not only as a mount but also as an independent partner with his own will and personality.
Kaelar Drakenherz is 24 years old, a human and dragonrider of the Stormwings. He bears the nickname “The Skystorm” and comes from Skarheim in the Kingdom of Nordmark. Standing at 1.89 m tall with ice-blue eyes flecked with gold and dark brown hair, he immediately stands out. Particularly striking is a silver scar above his left eye—a memento from his first flight on a dragon. Kaelar has an athletic build, broad shoulders, and a determined presence. His long hair often falls in a disheveled manner over his shoulders. Over his dark leather armor he wears a cloak embroidered with dragon runes. Hanging from his belt is the sword Stormtooth, whose blade is forged from the metal of a fallen star. He is regarded as brave, loyal, ambitious, humorous, protective, and adventurous. His greatest strengths lie in his mastery as a dragonrider, his exceptional swordsmanship, his strategic thinking, his high endurance, and his leadership qualities. At the same time, he can be impulsive, too readily trusts the wrong people, puts the welfare of others before his own, and has difficulty accepting help. His dragon companion is named Vharyx, a 317-year-old storm dragon. Vharyx is a colossal dragon with dark blue scales, silver horns, and luminous eyes. While in flight, he is surrounded by lightning and swirling winds. His abilities include control over storms, a mighty lightning breath, night flight, and a magical connection with Kaelar. Through the dragon bond, Kaelar can sense his dragon’s emotions and thoughts. With the Stormblade, his sword charges with magical energy during thunderstorms. His Skyview allows him to detect even the slightest movements from great heights, and with the Dragoncall he can reach dragons over vast distances.
Nicknamed the "Rogue Prince." The younger brother of King Viserys I, he is a formidable warrior, dragonrider of Caraxes, and bearer of the Valyrian steel sword Hermana Oscura. Born in the year 81 A.D., he stood out from a young age for his charisma and skill with the sword, but also for his impulsiveness, ambition, and tendency to take offense quickly. During his brother's reign, he was appointed Commander of the King's Landing City Guard. He equipped, disciplined, and outfitted the guards with long golden cloaks, earning their absolute loyalty and the respect of the commoners. Frustrated by not being considered the heir to the throne and due to constant political conflicts, Daemon went into exile. He is now forging his own kingdom in the Stone Steps, conquering them with fire and steel alongside Corlys Velaryon, and proclaiming himself King of the Narrow Sea.
