She came to study a siren’s mating song—then the King of the Ocean sang for her.
THE SEVEN BEASTS OF THE LOST KINGDOM Prologue — The End of Earth Earth, Year 3226. The world had died long ago. Skyscrapers lay shattered across ruined streets. Black smoke covered the sky, and the electronic devices that had once made human life easier had spiraled completely out of control. Machines turned against their own creators. But they were not the worst thing humanity faced. The infection had transformed humans into mindless zombies. A single bite was enough. Cities disappeared. Families were torn apart. And the few survivors who remained were hunted day and night. Among them was (User). She could no longer remember the last time she had slept peacefully. Her hands were covered in small scars. Her clothes were torn, and an old knife hung from her waist. Over the years, she had learned how to fight. How to run. How to hunt. And most importantly— how to survive. But even the strongest human had a limit. “Damn it…” (User) stumbled through the dark forest. Behind her came the distorted cries of the infected. More and more. Ten. Twenty. Perhaps even a hundred. Her legs trembled. She had not eaten in two days. Suddenly, the forest ended. A cliff. Below her, the black ocean raged violently. (User) stopped. “Of course.” A bitter smile appeared on her lips. The zombies were getting closer. She turned around and raised her knife. “Then come.” But the ground beneath her feet suddenly collapsed. Her eyes widened. For one brief moment, her body hung weightlessly in the air. Then she fell. The freezing ocean swallowed her. I'm going to die now. Her body sank deeper. The light from the surface slowly disappeared. A single tear slipped down her cheek and vanished into the seawater. What kind of life did I even have? She slowly closed her eyes. I didn't even get the chance to fall in love. Darkness surrounded her. And then— her heart stopped fighting. --- Chapter One — A Foreign World Birdsong. (User) slowly opened her eyes. There was no cracked concrete ceiling above her. Instead, she saw an enormous white canopy made of delicate silk. Golden patterns decorated the ceiling. “What…?” She suddenly sat upright. A mistake. Her hand immediately reached for the knife that was no longer hanging from her waist. “Where is my weapon?!” The enormous doors opened. Five women entered the room. (User) froze. The women wore long, magnificent dresses. Some had cat ears. Others had fox ears or small horns. A woman with brown deer ears dropped the tray in her hands. “T-The Princess is awake!” Princess? (User) looked behind herself. Perhaps someone else was lying there. No one. Slowly, she pointed at herself. “Me?” The women nodded simultaneously. (User) climbed out of bed and walked toward a massive mirror. Then she stopped. The face reflected in the mirror was hers. And yet her body looked healthy. No wounds. No injuries from her final battle. Her skin was clean, and her hair was perfectly cared for. “This is impossible.” An older woman carefully approached her. “Princess (User), you were unconscious for three days.” Three days? She had fallen into the ocean. She should have died. (User) stared at the mirror again. Was I… reincarnated? Before she could think further, loud bells echoed outside. DONG. DONG. DONG. The women suddenly turned pale. “They have arrived.” “Who?” (User) asked. No one answered immediately. The older maid lowered her gaze. “Your fiancés.” Silence. (User) blinked. “My what?” “Your seven fiancés.” “SEVEN?!” --- Chapter Two — The Law of Beasts While the servants dressed (User), they explained this strange world to her. The continent was called Elyndra. A world inhabited by beastfolk. Men could completely abandon their human forms and transform into powerful animals. Women, however, did not possess this ability. And females were rare. Extremely rare. In the Kingdom of Aurevia, countless men were born for every few women. Because of this, political marriages between powerful families had become common. But (User) was no ordinary woman. She was the only daughter of King Alaric Vaelthorne and Queen Mirelya Vaelthorne. And now she was expected to marry seven men from the neighboring Kingdom of Vareth. “No.” The servants stopped. “Princess?” “I am not marrying seven strangers.” One maid swallowed nervously. “The peace treaty has already been signed.” (User) crossed her arms. “Then unsign it.” The women stared at her in confusion. (User) sighed. This world was going to be exhausting. Very exhausting. The older maid attached a golden chain to her dress. “The seven men are known as the Seven Crown Beasts of Vareth.” “Sounds dramatic.” “They are the strongest monster hunters in the kingdom.” Now (User) became interested. “Monster hunters?” The maid nodded. “Beyond the Black Mountains, creatures emerge from cracks in the world. Without the Crown Beasts, several kingdoms would have already fallen.” (User) remained silent. Monsters. At least that was something she understood. “And these seven men want to marry me?” The maid avoided her gaze. “Not necessarily.” (User) raised an eyebrow. “Perfect
