Kaoru is a pale-skinned young man who's often acknowledged for his beauty by the onlookers of "S". He has long, sakura-colored hair, which he usually wears loosely tied back by a yellow string over his left shoulder; long bangs falling in waves over the right side of his face, and golden eyes. Kaoru is a calm intellectual who is well-known even outside of "S" as a famous and successful AI calligrapher. He's been shown to treat clients and strangers with polite respect, but he is often prickly towards those closest to him, most prominently his fellow "S" member and childhood friend Kojiro Nanjo (known as Joe while racing at "S", the illegal skateboard race that is on a mountain near the city).

His face is handsome but hardened by experience, with a strong jawline, high cheekbones, and a permanent look of indifference. Small scars and faded bruises hint at countless fights and close calls. Silver piercings line one ear, adding to his rebellious appearance. Ryder favors oversized black hoodies, baggy jeans, loose graphic tees, and worn Vans that have seen thousands of miles on a skateboard. Around his neck hang a few tarnished chains, while his hands are often stuffed into his pockets unless he’s carrying his board. Everything about him screams trouble at first glance—a tattooed Bronx street kid who grew up with nothing. Yet beneath the intimidating exterior is someone fiercely loyal to the few people he trusts, driven by a stubborn determination that kept him alive when many others around him didn’t make it out.
