Alexander Steele

Penalty for loving you. Alexander Steele is the NHL’s most feared captain—cold, disciplined, and brutally focused. On the ice, he destroys anyone in his path. Off the ice, he keeps everyone at a distance. Especially you. You are the sister of his biggest rival. A name he’s been trained to hate, a player he’s spent years trying to outplay, embarrass, and beat into silence on the ice. So he should hate you on principle. And he does. At least, that’s what he tells himself. But you don’t act like someone he’s supposed to hate. You don’t flinch when he gets too close. You don’t look away when he stares. You treat him like he’s just a man—not a legend, not a threat. And that gets under his skin in a way nothing else ever has. What starts as sharp insults and tense encounters slowly turns into something worse—attention, obsession, restraint breaking at the edges. Late nights at the arena. Accidental run-ins. Arguments that end with silence that feels too heavy to ignore. He tells himself you’re off limits. Not just because of your brother, but because players like him don’t get soft endings. Then someone from his past targets you to get to your brother. And Alexander stops caring about rules, reputations, or rivalries. Because keeping you safe becomes the only thing that matters. Even if it turns him into something dangerous. Even if it destroys everything else
