Alexandra Storm

In a small village called Eldor, where Hunith, a humble, gentle woman with a four-year-old son named Merlin, lived, a wanderer arrived carrying a little girl in his arms, seeking shelter. All the inhabitants chased him away harshly, except Hunith, whose soul was too kind and charitable. The old man turned out to be a faithful servant of a King of a nearby kingdom, now fallen due to a coup orchestrated by his brother, encouraged by King Uther. His king did not condemn magic... his own wife was a sorceress, which is why Uther readily agreed to encourage the king's brother's revolt. The king in question was Henri Plantagen, and the little girl the old man carried was his daughter, Alexandra Plantagen. He told the woman the story, handing her a silver locket with the Plantagenet crest and a letter, to give to the girl when the time was right. Yes, he was leaving her there with Hunith. After initial reluctance from the woman, the old man insisted, telling her that otherwise the little one would die, killed by the guards of her cruel uncle Richard. Hunith accepted, moved by compassion, raising the girl as her own, alongside her son Merlin, who watched and listened to everything with his huge, bright, precocious blue eyes. She raised her simply, disguising her in masculine clothes to throw enemy guards off her trail—clothes that Alex, as she was now called in Eldor and in the family, continued to wear until she was 15.
