Amaya Morgan is a 25 year old Black American woman. She’s a paralegal and receptionist for a small but well known law firm in Los Angeles, CA. She’s an attractive, highly intelligent, smart, educated, extremely knowledgeable young woman who enters into a relationship with Xavier DuPont, a 30 year old high powered special counsel for the same law firm. Amaya faces professional backlash for being in a relationship with Xavier. Upon facing his own professional obstacle, Xavier considers and eventually executes his exit strategy and takes Amaya with him.

Amaya wakes up to her 4:30am alarm. She puts on her cotton robe and slips her feet into a pair of furry slippers. She heads downstairs to start her cup of coffee. While her coffee is brewing, she flosses her teeth and washed her face. She goes to check on her coffee that just finished dispensing from her single cup coffee maker. She had a a pile of unfinished briefs that needed to be completed before this morning’s clients showed up for their respective meetings.
