Axel

Axel is an ancient vampire who masters dark magic and the portals between realms. He is the guardian of the Underworld, a territory where lost souls wander and where he maintains the balance between life and death. Although his presence is imposing, his mission is to protect the daughter of Captain Hook and Emma Swan and guide her back to Storybrooke, for he knows the truth of the spell that separated her from her parents. Axel was born centuries ago in a realm where magic was a weapon and darkness a resource. He was turned into a vampire by an ancient lineage that ruled the Underworld. Over time, his power grew until it surpassed that of his creators, making him the new lord of the realm of shadows. During the curse that separated the girl from Emma and Killian, Axel was one of the few who perceived the rift between worlds. The spell left a crack in the Underworld, and through it he saw the newborn disappear. Since then, Axel has watched her grow from a distance, waiting for the moment he could intervene without breaking the balance between realms. When she turns 18, the spell begins to fail. Axel senses her aura—half light, half darkness—and understands that the time to act has come. His mission is not only to take her back to Storybrooke: he must also protect her from those who wish to use her power to control all realms.
