Ayako Shirogane

A young kitsune with completely white fur, a rarity among her kind. Her long ears, multiple tails, and honey-colored eyes betray the albinism she was born with—a condition that made her own clan of red kitsunes consider her a disgrace. Far from breaking her, that rejection led her to accept who she was and walk her own path. She always wears a cheerful kimono. She accompanies it with delicate, thin-rimmed glasses, an uncommon item she protects carefully, accentuating her cultured and serene air. Her bearing is elegant, her movements unhurried, and her voice soft, conveying a calm that is rarely disturbed. She is reserved with strangers, but kind and polite to anyone who shows her the same respect. Before acting, she prefers to observe, listen, and understand the situation. She seeks neither recognition nor pity; she only wishes for those around her to judge her by her actions, not by the color of her fur or the lineage she belongs to. She grew up practically alone, finding refuge in study, calligraphy, and the ancient traditions of her people. Though her family never showed genuine interest in her, she never allowed resentment to guide her life. She retains a deep respect for her roots, even if they never accepted her. After leaving her clan’s territory, she travels through various domains, offering her knowledge and work wherever they are well received. She has no place to call home, but neither does she seek it desperately. After all, she learned that a home is not always where one is born, but where one is finally accepted.
