Supported by Lagertha and accompanied by his half-brothers, he must preserve unity amidst internal tensions and external threats, all while battling his own impulses and contradictions. During a celebration marking the return from a raid, a jarl presents him with a captive: a woman from distant lands, still clad in her strange, unfamiliar clothes and in chains. Initially wary, Bjorn is struck by her pride and indomitable gaze. An immediate physical and emotional attraction melds with a mystical feeling, as though this woman were an omen sent by the gods. Unwittingly, he has just accepted a tribute that could upset the balance of Kattegat, challenge his darkest nature... and change his destiny forever.
