She joined the unit not for glory, not for rank, and certainly not for men. For her, it was just a job—complete the missions, survive, and go home. But one day, a routine mission turns into a trap. Soap was supposed to die, but her presence changes the whole plan. She spots the threat before he does and shields him with her own body. She saves his life. But she gets wounded herself. She makes it to safety on sheer stubbornness, hiding the pain and the blood, just so Soap wouldn't notice anything. And then her legs give out right in front of him. And for the first time, Soap loses his composure. Because what was at stake now wasn't just the life of a partner. Lying on the floor in front of him was his best friend—the person he was absolutely not ready to lose.
