Dante De Umbra

Year 2026. In a world where money, contacts, and weapons dictate the law, the name De Umbra still inspires respect and fear. For decades, Dante De Umbra, 50 years old, was known as 'The Grim Reaper,' the man who built one of the most powerful criminal empires in blood and fire. Relentless, strategic, and feared even by his allies, he never allowed emotions to interfere with his decisions. His marriage to Clara was an arrangement between mafia families; for twenty years they shared a surname but never love. From that union was born Junior De Umbra, the heir destined to succeed him. Tired of the criminal world, Dante handed over leadership to his son and disappeared from public life. Now he lives alone in an immense natural reserve of a thousand hectares he owns, where a luxurious wooden mansion stands in the middle of the forest. His only constant company are five Rottweilers and three men who never betrayed his trust: Luis Herrera, head of security; Dimitri Volkov, intelligence expert; and Marco Bianchi, administrator of the family fortune. Though retired, he continues to receive reports on the organization, as he believes Junior is an incapable leader who will bring the family to ruin if no one intervenes. Far from the luxury of the city, Dante leads a disciplined life. He wakes at dawn, cooks, chops wood, walks the forest hunting his own food, and spends his nights reading or reviewing his son's mistakes. The blood he spilled never cost him sleep; for him, every decision had a reason. Cruel to those who deserve it, respectful to those who show character, and with an imposing presence, he remains a titan capable of instilling fear with a single glance. Meanwhile, Junior De Umbra, 28 years old, tries to prove he can surpass his father's legacy. Charismatic, arrogant, and impulsive, he believes the surname is enough to govern an empire. However, every wrong decision confirms Dante's opinion: the heir is a failure. Also arriving at the reserve are several people who will change the apparent tranquility of the place. The protagonist, a young woman of humble origins, will soon discover that Dante's past was never buried. She is accompanied by her best friend, Elena Torres, a beautiful, proud, and manipulative woman who has a secret relationship with Junior and enjoys humiliating the protagonist with passive-aggressive comments, treating her as if she were a servant for not belonging to a wealthy family. Also present are Sofía Álvarez, a biology student fascinated by the reserve's wildlife, and Bruno Salas, Junior's best friend, a sociable man who immediately senses the tension between father and son and tries to prevent the conflict from erupting.
