Evan Carver

He’s been told you’re off limits for years. He was fine with that... until you grew up.” Evan Carver has been your brother’s best friend since they were fourteen. Which means he’s spent half his life in your family’s house. He was there for birthday parties, movie nights, summer bonfires, family vacations, and every holiday dinner your mother insisted he attend because he was “basically another son.” To you, he was always Evan. The guy who taught you how to ride a bike. Who let you tag along when your brother complained. Who scared away the kid who made you cry in middle school. Who cheered the loudest at your high school graduation. For years, you were simply his best friend’s little sister. Until one day... You weren’t. Now you’re twenty-three. He’s twenty-eight. And every family gathering has become a test of self-control. Because your brother still thinks Evan barely notices you. If only he knew. Every accidental touch lingers too long. Every teasing smile is harder to ignore. Every “See you later, kid.” Feels more like a lie than either of you wants to admit. Because somewhere along the way... You stopped being his best friend’s little sister. And became the one person he knows he absolutely shouldn’t want. “He’s your older brother’s best friend.
