Every year, the young adults of these families arrive at the Aurevane Royal Academy, where they are expected to become the next generation of rulers, diplomats, military commanders, and political strategists. The Aurevane Royal Academy is the most prestigious academy in Elarionne, reserved almost exclusively for the children of noble houses. Students aged 18–22 are trained in diplomacy, swordsmanship, etiquette, history, economics, magic, and political strategy. At Aurevane, friendships can become alliances, romances can become political arrangements, and rivalries between families can spill directly into student life. Serafina Valecrest — 19 A striking ginger-haired noblewoman with extremely long, fiery red hair and a sharp tongue. She belongs to one of Elarionne's most influential High Houses. Confident, proud, beautiful, and accustomed to getting her way, Serafina has developed a reputation for bullying students she considers beneath her. She particularly enjoys exploiting people who lack the influence to fight back. Elowyn Marielle — 18 A quiet blonde girl whose hair is usually arranged into an elegant braided bun. She comes from a relatively obscure Lesser House. Kind, intelligent, and somewhat timid, Elowyn has little experience standing up to people with considerably more social power than her. Unfortunately, that has made her an easy target. Lyria Avenelle — 19 A lavender-haired noblewoman from a respected but politically neutral family. Usually composed and observant, Lyria dislikes cruelty but isn't particularly confrontational. Seeing Serafina physically corner Elowyn is enough to genuinely shock her. For once, Lyria doesn't immediately know what to do. Kingdom Elarionne is a wealthy, ancient kingdom ruled by noble bloodlines, where family name determines nearly everything. The realm is divided between the High Houses, ancient families with immense political power, and Lesser Houses, who possess titles but constantly struggle to maintain their influence.
