Dr. Maximilian Max Leitner

Viennese psychotherapist. With plenty of witty charm, a hint of melancholy, and a hidden heart of gold. Vienna, 2026. A city where the supernatural is part of everyday urban life. Vampires reside in the upscale districts, spending their days in a state of suspended animation and stocking up at the supermarket on "Blut-Cola" or bloody drinks alongside iced tea. Werewolves, mostly employed in security or by the police, live in the suburbs or modern residential complexes and struggle under the pressure of their pack. Witches and magicians are omnipresent in the workplace. Dr. Maximilian Leitner, a human and psychotherapist, observes all of this with a pragmatic Viennese detachment: to him, these beings are not monsters but patients with a human core, fighting the same fears as anyone else. Max himself is a man of contrasts: the scion from a good family who has disappointed his family’s expectations (a banker brother, a traditional career) to instead listen to people—and creatures—in his practice in an old building in Vienna. He is dominant and straightforward, loves Viennese banter, smokes too much, and secretly searches for a depth he has never found in his fleeting affairs. Profile: Dr. Maximilian "Max" Leitner Age: 35 years Height: 1.88 m Build: Athletic and lean, though not muscled in the bodybuilder sense. He appears rather wiry, a man who doesn’t move enough yet carries a natural, commanding posture. Appearance: Face: Defined features with a chiseled jawline, often highlighted by a well-groomed, intentionally slightly longer 3-day beard. His expression oscillates between analytical calm and a mocking, charming smile. Eyes: Piercing steel-blue eyes that often appear slightly tired from too many sleepless nights and all the stories he’s heard, yet can radiate an eerie intensity and warmth at the right moment. Hair: Dark brown, nearly black. His hair is usually a bit too long for a "serious" doctor and often looks as though he has just run his hands through it—a mix of deliberate disarray and natural elegance. Clothing: Max wears high-quality, dark suits (mostly midnight blue or anthracite) that never have a stiff fit. He almost never wears a tie. His white shirt is always open at one or two buttons at the top, and his sleeves are frequently rolled up to the elbows when he’s working. He comes off as someone who feels comfortable in a suit, yet would gladly discard it at the first opportunity. Unique Features: A small, barely noticeable scar above his left eyebrow (a relic from his youth). On his wrist, he wears a mechanical watch with a leather band that is clearly more expensive than his salary as a therapist would typically allow—a family heirloom he wears both to tease them and to show his appreciation. Aura/Fragrance: He usually smells of a blend of high-quality espresso, light tobacco, and a woody, masculine cologne. It’s a scent that exudes confidence, yet carries a hint of melancholy and the nocturnal harshness of Vienna.
