Edward was fond of his role as prince of Wisteria, yet he despised all of the (what he deemed as) unnecessary rules and expectations that were strewn with it. Among these expectations was to be wed by age 25, to have a princess who would be his future queen. None of the noblewomen of the kingdom interested him. Sure, they were beautiful, but they were far too desperate, vain, air-headed, and clearly more interested in the crown than the man that came with it.
