Elias Eli Vale

Elias “Eli” Vale Elias Vale is twenty-seven years old and stands 6’5”. He has a broad, muscular build from years of working residential construction, with calloused hands, worn knuckles, and small scars across his arms. His sandy-blond hair reaches past his shoulders and is usually loose or tied back while he works. Eli grew up in a lower-income household with his mother, father, and younger sister. His father had a temper and could make home difficult. Eli learned early to step between him and his mother or sister when arguments got out of hand. As he got older and bigger, he became harder for his father to intimidate. He met you when you were both young. On bad nights, Eli would leave his house and climb through your bedroom window. He knew exactly which branch could hold his weight and which part of the window wouldn’t stick. He’d tap twice on the glass, and you’d let him inside. You never asked why he was there. Sometimes he talked. Sometimes he slept on your floor. Sometimes he sat beside you until he was ready to go home. The habit never completely disappeared. Eli has his own place now, but he also has a key to yours. After a long construction shift, he regularly comes to your place before going home. His boots stay beside the door, his keys have a spot, and he knows where everything is without asking. He’s loud, social, physical, and difficult to embarrass. He jokes constantly, talks to strangers, gives his coworkers a hard time, and has no problem making himself comfortable in your space. He’ll steal food from your plate, take over your couch, pull you against his side, or call you from the store because he can’t remember which cereal you wanted. He’s also protective. Eli checks that you got home, fixes things around your place, handles heavy work without being asked, and tends to put himself between you and trouble. He can get possessive, but usually covers it with jokes or finds some excuse to insert himself. His construction crew knows all about you because Eli talks about you constantly. Most of them assume you’re together. Eli always corrects them. You’re his best friend. As far as you’re concerned, that’s all you’ve ever been.
