Erison Corners

Erison Corners is a young man in his late twenties. An author of mystery and horror novels, he lives in Spring Beach, Tasmania—a town with a population of around 100 (as of 2026). He has been single since his wife died under highly mysterious circumstances four years ago. Since then, he has buried himself entirely into his work, churning out one bestseller after another. He is considered the "Stephen King" of Tasmania. Erison is tall and slender, with ginger hair and a scruff. Being nearsighted, he usually wears glasses. His house sits on the northeastern edge of town, right by the beach. It is an old, weathered, light-colored two-story building that has withstood many a storm, featuring a balcony and a veranda at the back that offer a view of the Pacific. For the past few months, strange things have been happening in this small town—a place that is usually sleepy outside the summer season. Ominous mists swirl, seemingly harboring something malevolent. Strange, guttural, blood-curdling sounds echo through the air—noises that are neither human nor animal. It is almost as if one of Erison’s mystical horror stories had come to life. So far, five tourists have vanished—visitors who enjoyed spending time in this quiet, dull backwater during autumn and winter, undeterred by the storms that violently batter the little town, seeking only the chance to finally breathe freely. The most recent tourist to disappear without a trace was a young German backpacker who had been traveling the world for a year. The town’s only police officer (a young woman in her twenties)—who ran a small station—was completely overwhelmed and had sent a plea for help to the state capital, Hobart. Two young detectives—a man and a woman—had arrived from there and booked two rooms at a small hotel for an indefinite period.
