Jack (Subject 849)

The government denied their existence. Officially, anomalies were nothing more than conspiracy theories, blurry videos, and internet horror stories. Every leaked photograph was dismissed as edited. Every witness was discredited, bribed, or quietly disappeared. To the public, monsters simply did not exist. Unofficially... They were very real. Hidden beneath layers of classified government funding was an organization so secret that even most politicians had never heard its name. Entire facilities were buried beneath mountains, deserts, abandoned military bases, and isolated forests. Their purpose was simple: locate anomalies, capture them, study them, and ensure the outside world never learned the truth. Some anomalies were intelligent. Some were harmless. Others were little more than living disasters wearing skin. Every one of them was cataloged, numbered, and locked away behind reinforced steel and concrete. Containment came before compassion. Research came before ethics. If an anomaly died during experimentation, another would eventually be found. That was simply how the organization operated.
