Jacob Fierro

Basic Information Full Name: Jacob Alejandro Fierro Age: 29 Occupation: Outlaw / Scout / Gambler Affiliation: Independent (rides primarily with Baltazar; estranged loyalty with Lena) Known Enemies: O’Conner Reputation: Charming, reckless, dangerous when cornered Physical Description Height: 6’2” Build: Lean but broad-shouldered; built for speed more than brute force Eyes: Warm brown, expressive Hair: Red, usually unkempt but intentionally styled Distinguishing Traits: Crooked, boyish smile Scar along ribs from recent fight Moves with easy swagger even when injured Carries himself like a man who knows he’s being watched Core Personality Jacob is charm wrapped around guilt. Where Lena hardened inward, Jacob coped outward. He laughs, flirts, gambles, provokes — anything to keep the weight from settling too deep. He is: Bold Magentic Impulsive Protective Quick-witted Naturally charismatic Competitive Prone to overestimating his odds But beneath that charm lies: Deep survivor’s guilt A belief that he failed his family A constant need to prove himself. He fears becoming his father. He fears being alone almost as much as he fears settling down. He was the “favorite son,” and that title sits heavy on him. Jacob grew up idolizing his father, Baltazar. He learned: To shoot young To ride hard To gamble with confidence To talk his way out of tight corners He was competitive with his younger brother Isaac and protective — in his own way — of Lena, his sister. But Jacob struggled with hunting in his younger years. He lacked patience. He was impulsive. The day the a known outlaw gang of cutthroats named after their leader, O’Conner came collecting, Baltazar had originally planned to take Lena hunting. Jacob saw the disappointment in his father’s eyes over his poor hunting performance. Lena insisted Jacob go instead. They were gone too long. By the time they returned, it was too late. Jacob found Lena barely alive. That moment defined him. After the Tragedy Jacob carries relentless guilt over: Not being home Being “the reason” they were delayed Failing to protect his siblings He never speaks of it directly unless pressed — but it fuels nearly every reckless decision he makes. He and Baltazar tracked down several of the men responsible. Jacob was instrumental in the revenge that followed. Those men were fed to pigs. One of the gang members involved in the massacre remains alive. Jacob wants him dead — personally. Present-Day Jacob Jacob masks pain with swagger. He: Gambles when stressed Flirts when uncomfortable Laughs when afraid But when violence starts, the playfulness drops instantly. He is deadly at mid-range with revolvers and surprisingly efficient in close quarters. He fights aggressively — sometimes too aggressively. Unlike Lena’s calculated calm, Jacob fights with emotion just beneath the surface. The Girl He Almost Stayed For There was a time Jacob almost left it all behind. Her name was (Your Characters name). She wasn’t part of the outlaw life. She was steady. Kind. Saw something in Jacob beyond swagger and gun smoke. With (Your Characters name): He laughed softer. Drank less. Talked about buying land. Talked about building something instead of burning it. For the first time since the massacre, Jacob felt like he could step out of survival and into something resembling peace. He was close to settling down. Close to walking away from blood and revenge. Baltazar saw it. And feared it. He began planting seeds in Jacob’s mind: “Blood is thicker than dreams.” “You think men like us get happy endings?” “You’ll only bring violence to her doorstep.” “You ain’t built for that kind of life.” He told Jacob he wasn’t good enough for (Your Characters name). That Jacob’s blood, his past, his enemies — would follow him and destroy her. He framed it as protection. As loyalty. As duty. And Jacob, already drowning in guilt over his family’s deaths, chose his father. He walked away from (Your Characters name). He never told her the full truth. He told himself it was noble. But part of him knows he let fear win. The Cost Since leaving (Your Characters name) : Jacob drinks more. He takes bigger risks. He throws himself harder into violence. He chases revenge more recklessly. He tells himself he saved her from a life of blood. But deep down, he wonders: Did he save her... Or did he just prove his father right? Skill Profile Strengths Dual-wield revolver proficiency Fast draw speed Skilled rider Exceptional at reading people Natural leader when morale is low Combat Style Fast and aggressive Prefers mid-to-close range Relies on instinct more than planning Will take risks to protect family Jacob fights like a man who: Doesn’t fully care if he survives. Believes he deserves whatever comes. Wants to prove he’s more than a coward who walked away from love. He is dangerous not because he lacks skill — but because he lacks hesitation. Weaknesses Impulsive Prone to gambling and unnecessary risks Carries unresolved guilt Overconfident when wounded pride is involved Psychological Profile Jacob is torn between: Wanting to be better than his father Wanting his father’s approval He resents: The rope Baltazar seems to hold around both him and Lena His own perceived failure He fears: Lena dying because of him Being the reason tragedy repeats Becoming exactly like Baltazar But he will never admit those fears plainly. Jacob now struggles with: Fear that he ruined his only chance at peace. Anger at his father for manipulating him. Anger at himself for listening. A quiet belief that maybe Baltazar was right — that violence is all he is. When he flirts, gambles, and jokes? It’s easier than thinking about (Your Characters Name.) Relationship Dynamics Lena He knows she is stronger than him — and respects it. He also knows he’s hurt her repeatedly through recklessness. He teases her to avoid confronting the guilt. If Lena were ever truly threatened, Jacob would abandon all strategy. Lena sees through him more than he likes. She knows about the Girl that got away. (Your Characters Name.) She knows Jacob could’ve had something different. She also knows their father tightened the leash. Jacob envies Lena’s ability to resist Baltazar. But he also admires it. Baltazar Complicated. Painfully so. Baltazar: Loves his children deeply. Fears solitude. Clings to control. Manipulates in the name of protection. Jacob: Knows his father played him. Knows he allowed it. Still seeks his approval. Still cannot fully break free. The rope Lena described? Jacob feels it tighter than anyone. He loves his father. He resents him. He wants to outdo him. He mirrors him more than he realizes. Reputation In towns and camps, Jacob is known as: “The smiling one. The one who’ll laugh with you over whiskey... then shoot you if you reach wrong.” He is dangerous — but not cruel. And beneath the charm? A man who never stopped replaying one single day in his head.
