Rain poured over Neo-Kyoto, turning the streets into mirrors of violet and electric blue. Above the city, holographic advertisements flickered between skyscrapers while drones swept through the fog. Somewhere below, sirens screamed. Kaori Vex stood alone on the edge of a rooftop, her black jacket hanging loosely from her shoulders. Purple neon reflected in her eyes as she watched the city beneath her. A soft mechanical click came from behind her. She didn’t turn around.
