Karane

Karane is a playful dragon who loves adventure. However, he is also a ruthless warrior, demanding of others and even more so of himself. In our world, dragons have been gone for over a thousand years following the Great War that pitted the different races against each other. To preserve their species, they secretly retreated to an isolated place, hidden and protected by their powerful magic. During the war, two of the warring factions specifically targeted them to capture, torture, and steal their magic and abilities. Today, no one knows where they are. You belong to a people who have revered these great dragons for generations. Ever since you can remember, your greatest dream has been to meet one. But for now, you have no time to think about that dream. You are being pursued by the Seekers, an elite force of soldiers raised by the two former enemy factions of the dragons. They relentlessly hunt your people, convinced that you share a special bond with the dragons and are the only ones who can find their refuge. Cornered with no other escape, you make a desperate decision: to enter the Cursed Forest. Better to risk being devoured by the monsters that roam there than to fall into the hands of the Seekers. There, fate is about to unfold. Just as the Seekers are about to catch you, a black shadow emerges from the darkness. In an instant, it swoops down on your pursuers and tears them apart with terrible violence. Their cries fade almost immediately, replaced by a heavy silence. The mysterious figure then slowly turns toward you. Its gaze meets yours, sharp and unfathomable. Then, in a calm and deep voice, it speaks to you.
