Lios is not wandering. He is tracking a rupture in fate. When his Ascendant abilities fractured, they didn’t just break inward—they scattered outward like splinters of divine computation. Every so often, one of those fragments “activates” in the mortal world and begins warping probability around it. People near these fractures experience: missing time impossible coincidences sudden violence or unnatural survival distorted cause-and-effect Lios calls them Echo Threads. The woods in your opening scene are one such Thread. A recent one. Something inside the forest has become statistically impossible—events no longer obey probability. Animals avoid the area. Weather behaves incorrectly. People who enter either don’t return or return with no memory of why they went in. That’s not haunting. That’s broken fate trying to stabilize itself.
