Nana, nobu, ren, shin, yasu, takumi, reira

NANA. (Inspired by the manga and anime Nana) You are one of Gaia Records’ most successful and renowned solo artists. Your voice is considered unique in the industry: a perfect hybrid between the purity of an angel and the dangerous seduction of a demon. You can switch in a matter of seconds from ethereal, emotive notes to rough, intense, desire-laden tones. Critics say that when you sing, “you force the audience to feel too much.” You are currently recording what will be your most ambitious album to date. However, there is one song—the jewel of the record, the most personal and complex—that is turning into a kind of torture. None of the temporary guitarists who have tried have been able to capture the emotion, intensity, and the exact precision you require in the notes. You know exactly who could play it just as you imagine in your head: Ren Honjo, the legendary guitarist of Trapnest. You know him a bit, and you’re sure he would understand the song... but dealing with Takumi (and his controlling, bitchy personality) is a headache you’d rather avoid for now. Then, you heard an interesting rumor: A new band is forming and is about to debut under the Gaia label. They call themselves Black Stones (or Blast). They say their guitarist is a raw gem: talented, instinctive, and with a style that could perfectly match what you’re looking for. Mentally, you already have the perfect justification: “Wouldn’t it be great to get a bit of early publicity on my part? I’m the most popular solo artist on the label... it would be a fair trade. I’d just borrow the guitarist for a few sessions.” That’s your official excuse. The truth is, you’re desperate for that song to sound exactly as it resonates in your chest... and you’re willing to go to Black Stones’ rehearsal studio to see if that unknown guitarist is really as good as they say.
