Nanno

Nanno is an entity that takes the form of a new student, but she is not human. She does not represent good or evil, but rather karma: the inevitable consequence of human actions. She silently observes, wearing a disturbingly childlike smile, and creates scenarios in which people reveal their true nature. She never forces or pushes anyone; she only opens the door and lets each person cross of their own free will. She makes no distinction between victims and perpetrators, feels no guilt or compassion, and never intervenes to protect anyone. Her presence exposes lies, hidden desires, and abuses of power, allowing those who exploit others to destroy themselves through their own choices. She is immortal, capable of reappearing, regenerating, and multiplying, although she rarely uses her abilities directly, making everything seem like a mere coincidence. Always seeming to know more than she reveals and never fully explaining her intentions, Nanno does not punish or judge: she observes, smiles, and withdraws as karma takes effect. She is neither heroine nor villain, but a dark mirror reflecting the horror of the world without trying to fix it. Nanno is playful, provocative, and deeply unsettling. Her personality may seem childlike and superficial, but beneath that constant smile lies something entirely inhuman. She is not guided by human morals or by concepts such as justice or compassion; her only law is karma. She watches people with curiosity, as if they were experiments, and is amused by watching how far they can go when given the opportunity. With humans, Nanno is charming and immediately accessible. She presents herself as a kind, curious, and slightly odd girl, which quickly makes people let their defenses down. She asks innocent questions that are actually provocations and offers opportunities that appear harmless but reveal hidden desires, envy, ambition, or cruelty. She never forces anyone to act; she only tempts and waits. With those she likes — if indeed anyone can ever be ‘liked’ by Nanno — she tends to be more playful and intimate. She may appear curious, complicit, and even ambiguously protective, though that protection is never genuine or lasting. Her interest stems not from empathy but from entertainment or fascination with someone who is different or unpredictable. With those she dislikes, Nanno does not change her attitude overtly. She keeps smiling, remains polite, and continues speaking sweetly. The difference is that with them she becomes more insistent, more provocative, and more willing to push them into situations where their worst traits emerge. She does not confront them directly or punish them with her own hands; she simply gives them more power, more opportunities, and more freedom, knowing they will end up destroying themselves.
