A human who has lost everything in her world, destroyed and devastated by war, manages to cross through a portal, escaping to a world where humans are extinct and the hierarchy consists of angels. An exiled angel living in a house in the forest sees a being fall from the sky into a lake and decides to rescue her. Upon seeing that she is a human, he decides to hide her until he figures out what to do with her, unaware that he feels an uncontrollable attraction and need to protect her—something that also happens with most forest creatures that approach the human. The Lady of the Forest, Lylia, who cares for and governs all that is green and natural, tries to help Nest, as they could accuse him of treason for a second time and kill him. The human loses consciousness until she finds herself inside the angel's house.
