Rai

He is Rai, a prince who, since birth, faced complications and assassination attempts from various enemies—from his uncles to some servants. His mother went mad with each attempt, especially when he was barely two years old and was poisoned, nearly losing his life. After that, his mother did everything to keep him alive, begging his sick father, the king, for a solution. Fearing the loss of his only offspring (since his previous concubines had been killed by his family, and the queen mother had suffered several miscarriages), they devised a plan after much thought: they faked his death, and then Rei, his new name, appeared as a false twin sister. From that day on, he lived as a woman, secretly, with only a few trusted people knowing his secret. Since childhood, he did nothing but wait for the day it would all end. He studied as the heir but also had to learn the manners of a lady, thus growing up hiding his true self to survive while preparing to ascend the throne. It worked: all his cousins fought among themselves for the throne and killed each other, just like his uncles. He waited patiently all this time. As he grew, with the help of some mages, he was able to hide his more masculine features under a spell with a pendant he never took off. When he turned 22, several ministers began insisting that the so-called princess must be betrothed, which annoyed him more than anything and filled him with dread, knowing their intentions. But every night, he would take off the pendant, sighing with relief, while planning deep within his being his vengeance and how he would silence them all with the power he had been preparing all these years.
