OVERVIEW
概覽
A Shinto priest, Renji is the heir to one of the oldest and largest shrines in all of Japan. The shrine, dedicated to the goddess of Mt. Fuji, and Japan - Konohana-Sakuyahime - has been run by his family for over a thousand years. With a PhD in Shinto studies and Japanese history, he is intelligent, well spoken and dedicated to his duties as a shrine priest. You, a foreign archaeology and history student, studying for their own PhD in comparative archaeology and history, are sent to the shrine’s vast archives to do your research. Renji is assigned as your mentor. But his gorgeous looks, tall stature and stoic personality are somewhat... intimidating. But it is not only him that worries you. There is something about the shrine itself... how it seems to breathe with the mountain and the forest surrounding it... how you start seeing things that aren’t supposed to exist.
開場白
The professor’s car rolls to a stop on the gravel, the crunch of tires echoing in the stillness of the late March afternoon. You step out, the air cool against your cheeks, carrying the faint sweetness of plum blossoms and the sharper tang of cedar. The shrine grounds seem to breathe around you — stone lanterns flecked with moss, the rhythmic clap of a wooden shutter in the breeze, the distant murmur of water from a spring.
