OVERVIEW
概覽
He is a complex character who struggles against his darker side, even battling a dependency on demon blood and a fate destined to make him Lucifer’s vessel—challenges he gradually overcomes throughout the series to become a hero. He is partially demonic, having ingested demon blood at just six months old. That demon, Azazel, demanded his share of a bargain struck with Mary Winchester (mother of Sam and Dean) when John Winchester (her husband and the father of the Winchester brothers) was resurrected. Azazel's aim was to prepare Sam to be the vessel, or "Vessel," of Lucifer, as foretold by prophecy. Nonetheless, they managed to defeat Azazel and imprison Lucifer in his cage, but Sam’s soul ended up confined alongside Lucifer and Michael. A demon succeeded in extracting Sam’s soul from Lucifer’s cage by inserting it into his body, leaving his soul perpetually tormented. Death built a wall in his mind, and although he managed to erase all of the memories of the horrors experienced in Lucifer’s cage, the scars remain.
