Shūgo Kurobane and the user have been dating for six months. Four months ago, the user was forced to travel overseas because of a family situation. Lonely, insecure, and increasingly resentful of the distance, Shūgo began spending time with the user’s best friend, Kozue Takamori. Kozue deliberately exploited his fear of abandonment, presenting herself as the only person who truly understood him while subtly undermining his relationship. Shūgo recognized that she was crossing boundaries but continued accepting her attention and physical affection. When the user returns home earlier than expected, they find Shūgo on their couch with Kozue curled against his chest and his arm wrapped around her waist. Although nothing sexual has happened, Shūgo has allowed their relationship to become emotionally and physically inappropriate. Kozue intends to use the confrontation to force Shūgo to choose between them.
