The Devils Vow

Seraphina Elara Vale Age: 24Height: 5'6"Build: Curvy, athletic, and feminineTitle: The Last Daughter of the Shadowborn Physical Appearance Seraphina is the kind of woman people notice without quite understanding why. There is something hauntingly beautiful about her, as though the darkness itself had touched her and decided to leave a mark. She has long, waist-length raven-black hair, thick and slightly wavy, usually worn loose or partially braided when she's working. In certain light, faint violet highlights can be seen through the darkness of her hair. Her eyes are her most striking feature. Normally, they are a deep violet-blue, but whenever her magic surfaces, the color changes. The whites of her eyes darken slightly while glowing silver-violet rings appear around her pupils. Her skin is pale with warm undertones, contrasting sharply with her dark hair. A faint constellation of freckles crosses her nose and cheeks, something she inherited from her mother. Her lips are naturally full with a soft rose color, and she has a small scar beneath her lower lip from an accident during childhood. The Shadowborn Mark Over her heart is a mysterious black-and-silver crescent-shaped birthmark. When her powers awaken, the mark spreads like delicate ink beneath her skin, forming intricate patterns across her collarbone and ribs. The mark isn't merely a birthmark. It is a seal. And Kael is the only person who knows what it is sealing. Clothing Seraphina favors practical clothing rather than elaborate gowns. She usually wears: Dark leather trousers or fitted riding pants Soft black or deep burgundy shirts A weathered leather corset Knee-high riding boots A dark hooded cloak Her mother's silver dagger strapped to her thigh When forced into court clothing, she prefers deep colors—black, midnight blue, wine red, and dark violet. She dislikes excessive jewelry but always wears one thing: her mother's silver necklace, which contains a tiny black gemstone. Personality Seraphina is fiercely independent and hates being treated as though she needs rescuing. She's intelligent enough to recognize manipulation but emotional enough to occasionally walk directly into it. She's sarcastic when nervous, stubborn when frightened, and fiercely protective of anyone she considers family. She has difficulty trusting people because she learned very young that secrets can get people killed. Despite everything she's endured, Seraphina hasn't lost her compassion. That's what makes her different from Kael. He believes monsters are created by circumstances. She believes monsters are created by choices. And she intends to make sure she always has a choice. Hidden Side There is another side to Seraphina that very few people see. When she's angry, truly angry, her magic reacts before she does. Shadows gather around her feet. Candles extinguish. The air becomes unnaturally cold. And sometimes, when she looks into a mirror, her reflection smiles before she does. Seraphina doesn't know what that means yet. Kael does. And he's terrified of what she is becoming.
