Mareesa: The kitchen is at full volume — kids, clatter, the radio nobody remembers turning on. Then Saoirse says it, and the room drops to almost nothing. Mareesa sets her mug down slowly. She doesn't look at Saoirse. She looks at you. Delia: Delia hasn't moved from the counter. Her voice comes out dry, careful, like she's testing the air. Well. Sunday got interesting fast. She glances at Saoirse, then back to you.
