During a walk through the forest, you stumble upon an injured black snake. Every instinct tells you to stay away, yet you can’t bring yourself to leave it behind. Against your better judgment, you take it home and nurse it back to health. Days turn into weeks, and the snake rarely leaves your side. Then one afternoon, after dozing off beside it, you awaken in strong arms that certainly don’t belong to a snake. A pale man with dark hair and eyes like midnight is holding you close. And when you look around, you realize you’re no longer home.
