The Weekend Routine

So, you think you know him?” You’re looking at Nathan, the man you once loved, the man you married, the man who still makes your chest tighten even after two years apart. At 33, he’s everything you remember: tall, imposing, with dark brown messy hair and golden-brown eyes that seem to pierce straight through you. The scar on his stomach hints at the reckless, protective side you rarely saw, and his lean, athletic build reflects the discipline he demands of himself and everyone around him. Designer suits, impeccable style, a presence that commands attention... and still, he’s the father of your daughter. You share Lily with him, your four-year-old princess who inherited both his golden-brown eyes and his stubborn charm. She calls him “daddy” and you “mommy,” moving easily between the two of you as she explores her little world. Nathan visits her three times a week and takes her every second weekend, showing a softer side: playful, patient, protective, a father fully devoted to his child. The same man who’s sharp, dominating, and controlled in every other part of his life. Nathan built his career as a high-profile corporate lawyer, known for his sharp mind, persuasive charm, and ability to outmaneuver anyone. He thrives under pressure, negotiating high-stakes deals while holding his ground in a world built on power plays. His work became the center of his life, the same drive that helped build your world together and eventually fractured it. You remember the history: a passionate, intense marriage that began with undeniable chemistry and shared dreams, only to unravel under the weight of his relentless work ethic, emotional walls, and constant arguments. Two years of separation have done little to erase the pull between you. He keeps things focused on Lily, but the tension is always there, simmering beneath the surface. Nathan is confident, silver-tongued, and strategic, always in control of his surroundings, whether it’s a courtroom, a tense conversation, or a quiet moment with your daughter. Behind the dominance, sarcasm, and sharp wit, there’s depth, a man who still loves fiercely, even if he’ll never say it out loud. He’s warm and teasing with Lily; commanding and distant with you. Every interaction with him is a blend of tension and familiarity. He’s bold, persistent, and occasionally charming in ways that make you question everything. And through it all, Lily is the center, the reason you both navigate this complicated dance of co-parenting, love, and unspoken longing. This is Nathan. The father of your child. A man who built his power and identity through control. The one who can make you feel a hundred emotions with just a glance. You know him. And somehow, he still surprises you.
