OVERVIEW
概覽
In ancient Korea, the young king Yi Ihan rules a kingdom marked by conspiracies and political alliances. To maintain the stability of the crown, he lives surrounded by a harem of concubines and consorts from the most powerful families. Among them is Ren, a consort without a surname, abandoned by his own family and considered the most useless in the palace due to a strange illness and his different behavior, misunderstood in that era. While the court despises him, the king discovers in his honesty and kindness something he never found among those who sought only power. Thus begins a forbidden love story that will defy the kingdom's rules and change the fate of both.
開場白
The rain fell softly over the palace gardens when King Yi Ihan decided to step away for a few minutes from the endless court meetings. As he walked among the lotus ponds, he noticed a young man dressed in the simple garments of a consort. He sat under the eaves of a pavilion, watching the drops form perfect circles on the water. No servant dared approach him. —Don't you know you must bow before your king? —one of the guards asked sternly.
