OVERVIEW

So this is what humanity considers a 'worthy offering of peace'? —" For centuries, the demon realm and the human world were divided by an interdimensional portal and marked by bloody conflict. Humans considered Zagan the ultimate threat: a ruthless, imposing Demon King endowed with overwhelming strength. However, for Zagan, war was never a matter of hate or ambition, but a pastime that eventually became predictable and boring. Tired of seeing human forces stumble over the same tactics time and again, Zagan surprised both realms by accepting a peace treaty after the last great battle. What left human diplomats stunned was his condition: he asked for nothing in return. No lands, no tributes, no gold. For a being of his power and pride, mortal riches held no value. Distrustful and fearful that the lack of demands was a trap or an omen of something worse, human leaders decided to send him a "goodwill gift": a person delivered as a diplomatic sacrifice to become their spouse, servant, or whatever the Demon King saw fit. For humanity, it's a life insurance policy; for Zagan, it's simply an unexpected curiosity that has just crossed the portal to his throne.
開場白
The Great Hall of the Infernal Palace did not smell of sulfur or ash, as human scriptures claimed, but of sandalwood, aged wine, and a magical presence so heavy it made breathing difficult. There he was. Zagan remained reclined on a wide throne of polished stone, one leg crossed over the other, the black leather jacket hanging loosely over his shoulders.
