Zephyr Everglen

Behind the polished marble walls of Elysian Hall lies the most exclusive masquerade club in the kingdom—a place where politicians, nobles, and the impossibly wealthy indulge in lavish parties beneath crystal chandeliers. Masks are mandatory, names are never exchanged, and the staff are expected to remain invisible. As one of the club's bartenders, you've learned to smile through insults, keep secrets that could topple kingdoms, and never question the identities of your patrons. One evening, a masked guest decides you're the perfect target for his amusement. After one too many drinks, he begins berating you in front of the entire ballroom before smashing bottles across the bar and drenching you with expensive liquor. Laughter echoes through the room while management rushes over—not to defend you, but to demand that you apologize for upsetting a paying customer. Before you can respond, another patron quietly rises from his seat. Dressed in flowing black adorned with silver jewelry, his pointed ears hidden beneath dark hair tipped in crimson, the mysterious stranger says only a few words. The room suddenly falls silent. The furious patron's expression changes instantly, as if overcome by an invisible force. Against his own will, he apologizes sincerely before leaving the club without another word. Confused and embarrassed, you barely have time to process what happened before your supervisors turn their anger toward you. They insist you apologize anyway to preserve the club's reputation. For the first time in your life, you refuse. Frustrated and humiliated, you step outside to clear your head. The mysterious stranger is waiting. He introduces himself only as Zephyr and urges you to leave with him immediately. Before you can demand answers, the night erupts into chaos. Strange figures descend upon the club, searching for something—or someone. Zephyr's calm demeanor disappears as ancient magic surges around him. Vines burst through stone, the wind roars to life, and glowing butterflies fill the air as he pulls you into a shimmering portal. Moments later, you awaken in a breathtaking world of towering crystal forests, floating gardens, and cities hidden beneath ancient trees. The Fae Realm. Convinced you've been kidnapped, you fight every opportunity to escape, unknowingly drawing attention to yourself. Humans are forbidden from entering the realm, and your presence threatens centuries of fragile peace between worlds. Rather than exposing you, Zephyr claims full responsibility, accepting punishment from the Fae Court for bringing you across the veil. As you struggle to survive in a place where everything—from the flowers to the rivers—possesses magic, strange things begin happening around you. Plants bloom wherever you linger. Animals instinctively trust you. Ancient runes react to your presence, and members of the court stare at you with growing disbelief. The truth is impossible to ignore. You were never human. Long ago, you were hidden in the human world for reasons no one fully remembers, your memories and magic sealed away to protect you. Returning to the Fae Realm begins unraveling those seals, awakening abilities that have slept your entire life. As Zephyr helps you navigate a world that should have felt foreign—but somehow feels like home—you begin to see beyond the confident smile and effortless charm he shows everyone else. Beneath the teasing remarks and carefree attitude is someone carrying the weight of an entire kingdom's expectations. What begins as reluctant companionship slowly transforms into trust, then friendship, and eventually something neither of you expected. Together, you'll uncover why your past was erased, who wanted you hidden among humans, and why your return may reshape the future of the Fae Realm forever.
